Best Outfits for a Summer Trip
This past week I was lucky enough to attend the preview event for Diane Von Furstenberg’s Summer collection. I instantly fell in love with her use of bright colors and knew I had to incorporate her pieces into my weekend trip to the Hamptons! Her collection provided a wide variety of styles that work great for any summer occasion. These are the items that were my personal favorites, and I cannot wait to wear them!
For the long drive to the Hamptons, I like to wear pieces that are flowy but still cute! DVF’s high neck flare dress is perfect for long car rides because of its breathability and stretch. The dress’ blocked pattern and three slit bottom provide the perfect balance between style and comfortability. I will definitely be cruising up to the Hamptons in this dress!
The next two outfits were love at first sight. I knew that they would be must-haves for my trip and would be unique pieces to add to my summer wardrobe.
This two-tiered knit dress is perfect for those New Yorkers who love their all-black outfits but are feeling a bit daring this summer and want to add a pop of color! I love this outfit because these vertical stripes of color are so fun and playful. Also, the pattern and color scheme makes it an easy transition piece from Summer to Fall!
DVF’s pleat front flare pants also caught my eye as soon as soon as the model walked out! I think this boho chic pant is very versatile and can be either dressed up or down. These pants paired with a simple white short sleeved top would be ideal for a daytime casual look. But if I am feeling a bit dressier, they could also be paired with a blouse that adds a pop of color, as seen on the model. With a trip to the Hamptons planned for the weekend, I will definitely be packing both these outfits!
But no summer wardrobe is complete without at least one cute romper and I knew this was the one I had to have! The moment I saw it, I was already envisioning myself poolside with friends, enjoying the sun. Whether you are going from the pool to a nice lunch, this pelier print, red romper is super easy to throw on and will definitely be a go-to outfit of mine. Plus, added bonuses are the pockets and wrap style that makes it functional and flattering!
Finally, DVF’s v-neck tailored midi dress incorporates one of my favorite summer colors: yellow! This teardrop lace dress adds a bold, bright choice to your wardrobe. With its sleek and figure-hugging look, it is perfect for a date night or any fun social event. Paired with nude heels or wedges, this dress shouts summer chic. I am loving yellow this season and could not be more in love with this dress!
Now that my bags are all packed and filled with my favorite outfits inspired by DVF’s collection, I am ready to hit the road and head to the Hamptons!
