DRESS FOR YOURSELF: RULE # 1

Trends and fads are very influential in how people dress and in what they choose to buy. Whether it was wearing bell bottom jeans and flower-printed, flowy dresses in the 60s, leg warmers and converse in the 1980s, or mini skirts and crop tops in the 90s, most people at one time or another have given into social norms and dressed like everyone else. It is only normal to want to fit in and become part of the trend, but make sure to always dress in clothes that fit not only your body type, but also your personality. Some clothing just doesn’t fit a person’s style and some clothing just isn’t flattering to every body. Choose clothes that will accentuate your curves and body in all of the right places, and if that might not be the trendiest item of clothing, there’s no need to worry, because originality never goes out of style. Not everyone can pull off certain looks and should not feel obliged to do so. Sure, some people like Rihanna can pull off timberland boots and sheer dresses, but not everyone has that type of style. You can tell a lot about how someone’s personality by their outfits and style — most people who wear leather jackets and studded combat boots are seen as edgy, while others who wear blazers and pearls may be classified and preppy and chic. Dress the way you want to be seen as, and what best fits your character and style. If you are more classic, don’t wear fishnet stockings and leotards because Lady Gaga is doing it. Always remember to be yourself and dress in what fits you, don’t try to force yourself to fit a style that isn’t genuine to your personality and body and you should wear things you feel comfortable and confident in.
